This is a time of profound shift. Some call this the great turning, others the evolution of a new human. I’ve been calling it a shift from force to flow.
By force, I mean the old ways of doing things, which were largely about pushing, forcing, making things happen. This type of force stands in contrast to true power. And by flow, I mean the state of flow as coined by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, but I also mean the state of being in harmony with Life. When we are in harmony with Life, we can not only achieve states of flow but also more easily discern where and when best to engage and then choose to act with power, creativity and inspiration. We can even get to a place of effortless doing or doing by non-doing.
This is not a new concept of course. This is a way of being beautifully articulated in the Tao Te Ching, and spoken of and lived into by many others. What is new is this time on our planet. This is an idea whose time has come.
